James Bennett (Vet)
James graduated from the Royal Veterinary College and began his career in Hong Kong: a high pressure environment with a busy and varied caseload of critical and difficult ailments. Having moved back to London, James worked in Wimbledon for three years, where he gained a further qualification in Feline Practice, before joining the team at Elizabeth Street as the Senior Veterinary Surgeon. James is an LVI, and so is able to issue passports under the PETS scheme and discuss export requirements. James consults from Monday to Friday.
Helen Wikeley (Vet)
Helen qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 1999. She worked at the RSPCA Harmsworth Hospital for many years, where she saw a very large caseload and encoutered illnesses which would be considered rare in smaller clinics. Helen worked on the emergency vet rota at Elizabeth Street for 3 years before joining the day clinic in 2006. She works on Monday to Wednesday each week. Helen is also an LVI with the ability to handle passport or export issues.
Fionah Wells (Practice Administrator)
Fionah initially started working for the clinic in 1984 as the morning receptionist. Gradually over the years her hours and responsibilities have grown. She is now the Practice Administrator and Company Secretary. Fionah has a great depth of knowledge about the practice and the local area and is always available to give advice.
Kate Johnson (Head Nurse)
Kate is the most recent addition to the Elizabeth Street team. She splits her time between managing the team of nurses, looking after animals at work and caring for her daughter at home. Kate and James were colleagues at his previous clinic. She is keen to discuss canine behavioural problems and will give happily advice to new pet owners on any aspect of companion animal care.
Shana Hamanne (Vet Nurse)
Shana obtained a veterinary nursing degree from the University of Queensland in 2004. After graduation Shana had both nursing and management roles at two clinics in Brisbane for 3 years before moving to the UK. She has been a locum nurse at 13 practices over the South East of England since her move and took a permanant role at Elizabeth Street in 2009. Shana's interests lie in animal behaviour and animal nutrition, she also runs diet clinics for our more rotund pets.
Johanna Gilmore (Vet Nurse)
Jo qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1999. She started working at Elizabeth Street in 2005 after gaining a large amount of experience at the Blue Cross Hospital. Jo is a qualified Hills pet nuritionist and also one of our 4 emergency night nurses.
Claire Sedgwick (Vet Nurse)
Claire qualified in 2003 as a veterinary nurse and joined Elizabeth Street in 2007. She is one of our 4 emergency night nurses. She runs Animal Matters a behavioural and one to one dog training service. Claire also co-founded 'Help the Street Animals' a charity based in Morocco.
Tracey Parnell (Vet Nurse)
Tracey joined the team early in 2009 having worked with James at his previous clinic. Since becoming a qualified veterinary nurse in 2003 Tracey has worked in a number of clinics within south-west London. She has a real menagerie at home and is the clinic's resident bunny expert.
Renata Federico (Vet Nurse)
Renata qualified as a veterinary nurse in Australia in 2000 and has subsequently worked in a variety of private and charity veterinary hospitals both at home and in the UK. She joined our team of night nurses in 2007.
Hannah Smith (Trainee Vet Nurse)
Hannah has recently enrolled at the College of Animal Welfare in order to continue her training to become a registered veterinary nurse. She also planning on undertaking further training in animal nutrition. Hannah started working at Elizabeth Street Veterinary Clinic in 2008.
